Have you ever watch KTO Advertising for Korean Tourism? In
Spring Edition?
You will see story about girl and
boy who have push and pull relationship. And they met in beautiful mountain
surrounded by a lot of pink flowers. More than a year ago Tari told about this
advertising always said “I want to go there, I want to see Royal Azalea
Festival”. When I set up our itinerary, I asked her to check and she can add or
revise my plan. She just said, “I just want to see Royal azalea festival and go
to Coffee Prince Cafee, the rest is same with you”
That why we finally went to this
place. To see Royal Azalea Festival.
Reseacrh was start and everything
about this place was not easy as Seoul or Busan. This place is rural area in
Korea. When I asked my friend who lived two years in Busan, she just said
“Korea have a lot of destinantion place, but why you choose the hardest one?”. But
it was very beautifull places, I never regret our decision to visit Hapcheon.
We spent at least 5 hours (Little bit forget) from Seoul to Hapcheon. We
reached bus to Hapcheon from Nambu Bus Terminal. The bus directly to Hapcheon.
You can go from Daegu, but I think going from Nambu Bus Terminal is better.
First time we arrived in Hapcheon
Terminal, everything confused us, haha... no one speak english, at least We
cannot found anyone who speak english at that time. In our research, We need to
go to Dougman from Hapcheon. We asked ajushi near us, and he said we have to go
to Debyong. And we have no idea what or where debyong was. >.<

We only got information from KTO
website, no specific information. Only go to Hapcheon from Nambu bus Terminal
and then go to Dougman. I did everything i can when i still in Indonesia,
search in all blog I can found and find hashtag #hapcheon in Instagram. There is
one person from couchsurfing who replied my massage, but she lived far from
Hapcheon, so when I told our situation (surrounded by people who suggest to
Debyong rather than Dougman), she said “NO!! YOU HAVE TO STAY IN HOTEL AND GO
TO DOUGMAN TOMMOROW”. But still for people like us, who only speak broken
korean language and body language, all ajushis and ajumas made us confused. We
were really become center of attention. There was ajuma hold my bracelet and
said “Accessories nomu yeppota” (your accessories is very beautiful). Some
asked us “Are you from Arab?” haha.. we are always happy if we can attract
their attention with our beautiful Hijab. They must be curious about us ^.^
After more than one hour, there
was ajusi came to us. He spoke korean and said “Go to hotel near here (pointed
some direction choices) and you can come back tomorrow morning to catch the bus
to Dougman! Not Debyong”. Yeah actually not easy to understand what he said we
need a lot of body language, but he helped so much. After that we decided to
stay in Hotel Near Terminal.

I already did research and I know
that this city will be not crowded as Seoul or Busan. But I have no Idea this
city will be very quite like that. Only few car in main road. Maybe you can
dance in middle main road if you want. We were take look at night, to see this
city culture, find some food or people. But it was very quite, really. That situation
made us to buy some instant ramen (Find halal ramen, we spent long time in
conv. Store just to check ramen ingredient without DWEJI GOGI) and go back to
hotel. After 2 night in seoul we never went back to hostel before mid night, in
Hapcheon we just go back before 8 night a clock. ^.^ “Well, tommorow we will
hiking! Just take a rest”
HWANGMAESAN MOUNTAIN,
ROYAL AZALEA FESTIVAL.
The day came. We went to terminal
before 7 o clock, just like what Angel Ajusi told us before. We called him
Angel since we forgot the name, but he was very nice. But we were to early. Bus
not ready yet. Hahaha.
And we met him again ^^. Angel
Ajusi, and he became our bus driver to Dougman! Ah how lucky we are. He
welcoming us with his unique smile and he offered cups of coffee, really we
were so lucky and wish we can met him again.

We spent two hours from Hapcheon
to Dougman. A lot of student in our bus. I feel like I watched drama live. They
just played in the bus with Korean language (Of course, they are korean.. ^.^).
The view very beautiful. Me and Tari really enjoyed our journey to Dougman. Something
that we didn’t get in Seoul. Different place, not busy place, just peace place.
We found a lot of White Cherry blossom more than we saw in Seoul. Unfortunately,
we came in May, We imagined if we can visit Hapcheon in March or April, it
should be beautiful
The angel ajusi bought us some
food in rest area. I dont know where but we spent at least 30 minutes in rest
area before Dougman. It was touched us, we only spent 2000 won for the bus, but
he bought us some food more than 5000 won. Ah, you were angel ajusi... ^.^
We arrived in Dougman, but it was
not the last transportation. We need to take taxi to Hwangmaesan. We spent
10.000 won for 4 people, we met 2 busan people who asked us to share taxi fee.
First time I see Hwangmaesan, it
was PINK. Oh Oke Pink, just like in adv. But more i see, more I realize rozal
azalea was very beautiful. When we see royal azalea, we just said ah its good.
But when you see a mountain with pink blanket, it will amazed you.
But the happiest thing was to see
Tari happy! Finally she come to the place that she alwaaaaaaaaaaays talk to me!
^.^, For me, this destination is very beautiful, but the journey, that ajusi,
survived experience in Hapcheon made this trip completely fun.
If you are young and love flower,
I suggest this place in Korea ^.^
TIPS GO TO ROYAL AZALEA IN
HWANGMAESAN MOUNTAIN
- Please, Go to Dougman... not Debyong...
- If you take a bus from Seoul, it is better with the first bus from Nambu Bus Terminal.
- You can stay in hotel near Hapcheon terminal, we spent 40.000 won/night for two person.
- From Dougman to Hwangmaesan, you can find suttle, but it is better to find another patner tho share taxi fee.
- Make sure you remember bus schedule, because only few bus goes to Hwangmaesan. If you want to take taxi, I spent 40.000 won from Hwangmaesan to Hapcheon.
